Baguette recipe
Simple recipe for how to bake a French baguette.
Recipe for 3 baguettes - Cooking time about 5 hours.
Ingredients
4 DLWarm water (37°C)
25 GYeast for bread
500 GWheat flour special
20 GSalt
Equipment
1Baguette plate/tray with space for at least 3 baguettes
1Baking paper
1Dough mixer
1Oven-safe form
1Water sprayer

Instructions
1. Mix the yeast into the water until it is completely dissolved.

2. Add flour and salt and mix thoroughly and for a long time, about 10 minutes. Preferably in a dough mixer.

3. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and leave it to ferment for two hours at room temperature.

4. Place plenty of flour on a table over a large area, and pour the dough into the flour.

5. Now roll out the dough in the flour until it is about one meter long.

6. Divide the dough into three equal pieces and shape them into baguettes.

7. Place the pieces on baking paper in the baguette plate/tray and sprinkle some flour on them.

8. Cover the baguettes with a towel and let them ferment for another 2 hours.

9. When the fermentation starts to finish, set the oven to 250°C and put a oven-safe form with water in the bottom of the oven.
10. Remove the towel and cut the top of the baguettes as shown in above picture(approximately 1 cm deep three long diagonal cuts).

11. Open the oven and spray with the water sprayer on the walls of the oven. Then insert the baguette plate/tray with the baguettes in the lower part of the oven and close the oven door.

12. Let the baguettes bake for about 15 minutes.

13. Then take them out and turn them upside down in their places in the baguette plate/tray.

14. Spray the oven walls with water and then insert the baguette plate/tray in the oven again.

15. Bake for another 15 minutes until the baguettes have a nice dark golden brown color.

16. Take them out and let them cool and rest for about 20 minutes before serving.
